When I started Completely Damaged, I always had in the back of my mind of living my dream and trying Professional Wrestling. Don't get me wrong, I love interviewing and hearing the stories of people I look up to and watched on TV. However, I wanted people to hear my story. I wanted the Completely Damaged Fans to know how truly invested I am in Professional Wrestling. When I heard Danny Cage and The Monster Factory were having a Beginner's Camp, I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me. After talking it over with Danny and Dr. Carl Martin, I approach my wife Lindsay about this opportunity. Having her support was key to this whole process. After talking it over with her, I approached Matt Porter to see if he wanted to come film this documentary. He was on board. May 18th was the day everything changed!!
That morning, I had so many emotions running in my mind. Can I do this? Will I fall out of love with Professional Wrestling? Will I get hurt?
When the camp started, I felt great. We did push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, squats, wheel barrows, and fireman's carry. After that, we worked on Back Bumps and front Bumps on a heavy duty mat. Then we did Back Bumps in the ring. I surprised myself and actually did pretty well. The two things I struggled with were running the ropes, and headlock take downs. The ropes really take a toll on your back as well as falling back first on the mat. If your head hits that mat, you could get a serious concussion. One thing I loved about the day was the One Minute Promos.
I just want to say stay tuned for the footage we got that today. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product once Matt is done.
Special thanks goes to all the Students at the Monster Factory and Head Coach Danny Cage. I appreciate you allowing me to step foot in your ring and I hope I made your proud! Also special thanks to Matt Porter, Lindsay Hall and everyone else who supports Completely Damaged! You're the ones who keep me motivated to go "One Step Higher".
